Life of Camilla

Like many others, I like to go on vacation. Going on holiday can be quite expensive, but you must not stay at the most expensive hotel, go on the most expensive restaurant or rent the coolest rental car.

There are many mix reasons to go on vacation, here I have 7 reasons out of 100 😉

1. New cultures

On vacation you can experience many different cultures that you didn’t know existed and that you couldn’t have experienced otherwise.

2. Sleep better

Because of no worries from everyday life, you sleep better. At least I do 😉

3.Memories/experience new places

Maybe you’ve always wanted to see historical things and places? Or just go over Besseggen in Norway?

4. New friends

You may be surprised at how easy it is to get to know people on vacation. Maybe you visit them in their home country on your next vacation?

5. Leave…

Well written and inspiring!

A writer's touch

They were in a bottomless pit
A demon with broken teeth began to drum
And all the other demons echoed
Deception and deception
In a moment a lady called worldliness and immorality took the stage
The reddishness of her lips
Was more inviting than Adam’s apple. Youths, even the old shook their waist
Dancing to the music of hell

Anger came suddenly to the stage
And unforgiveness held his hand like a newly married couple
Jealousy hurried up to the stage
Cause she had eyes for anger
And they began to sing
Causing the world to sin
With a melody that made the world to dance vigorously
Dancing to the music of hell

No one knew that drunkenness could sustain a note
Until he ended the note
And all the drunkards kept nodding their heads
To his meaningless songs
Lust hid herself in a secret chamber
Whispering into many hearts

Chosen, not Qualified

Daily Graces

Our base parish has been so thankful these past two weeks. Last April, our active duty priest assigned to our base retired and we have been without an assigned priest since then. A very kind priest from town has been coming to help fill in, but has to basically fly in, say Mass and then zoom straight back to his parish to make the times work. We were grateful for the gift of the Sacrament, but there wasn’t much time for pastoral care. After much prayer, a civilian priest volunteered to come fill the void and his homilies the past two weeks have been very, very good.

His main point this week was so good, I had to take a minute and share it with you all. He asked us a question at the start: “In all our readings today, there was a man before God. Was he chosen, though…

Please! No more cancer. Been there, done that.

Write Along with Me

I had a health scare last week that slapped me, once again, into awareness that I’m alone. I no longer have a husband; I no longer am married. After 56 years, I no longer have someone at home who’s there for me the minute something goes wrong.

There have been many challenges as I’ve assumed this role of widowhood, but they’ve been doable. Mostly. I’ve not finished yet with collecting tax documents, and that’s stretching my sanity; I much prefer working with words than numbers.

This health scare, though, was not doable, alone. The doctor’s office called that I needed to have a repeat mammogram. In my 77 years, I’ve never had to have a repeat. You can imagine where my mind went—all the way from the repeat test itself to the grave.

I had to have an immediate talk with myself. I could not deal with wild thoughts alone…

Number of UAE expats prepared to spend a fortune for a second passport surges 30%

Multicultural Meanderings

More on citizenship-by-investment and the incentives for expatriates in the Gulf who have no pathway to citizenship to pursue options:

There has been a huge increase in the number of wealthy expatriate residents in the UAE who are willing to spend hundreds of thousands to millions dirhams in exchange for a second passport — and the privilege to travel the world freely — despite allegations of fraud against some immigration firms.

In 2018, requests made in the UAE to obtain an alternative citizenship went up by 30 per cent compared to the previous year, according to Citizenship Invest, a Dubai-based company.

The bulk of these applications are from Asian and Middle Eastern nationals residing in the UAE, with Syrians topping the list and accounting for 14 per cent of total demand.

Many Pakistani nationals are also interested in acquiring residency rights from other countries, with their applications accounting for 12…

HMVC – Hierarchical model–view–controller

Acordo Coletivo: Cidadania

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to navigationJump to search

The structure of an application with PAC.

Hierarchical model–view–controller (HMVC) is a software architectural pattern, a variation of model–view–controller (MVC) similar to presentation–abstraction–control (PAC), that was published in 2000 in an article[1] in JavaWorld Magazine, the authors apparently unaware[2]of PAC, which was published 13 years earlier.

The controller has some oversight in that it selects first the model and then the view, realizing an approval mechanism by the controller. The model prevents the view from accessing the data source directly.

The largest practical benefit of using an HMVC architecture is the “widgetization” of content structures.[3] An example might be comments, ratings, Twitter or blog RSS feed displays, or the display of shopping cart contents for an e-commerce website. It is essentially a piece of content that needs…

One day I’ll be Queen of England vows Boris Johnson

Writing in his Daily Telegraph column, the famously ambitious Johnson, said: “I can conceive of no earthly reason why I should not be made Queen after the death of Her Majesty.

“I went to a good school, my Latin is at least on a par with Rees-Mogg’s, and even if I do say it myself, I have a certain regal bearing.

“I can’t see there being any objections from the royal family, to be honest. In fact, they’ll probably welcome my ascension to the throne

3 Tips to improve digestion naturally

A proper digestion process is the key to a healthy life. If your digestive process has issues, then it can lead to some major issues in the long run. Fortunately, there are some tips with which we can naturally improve the process.

And the best part perhaps is that these tips are easy to implement in real life without much effort. So with that said, here are some tips which can help you to improve digestion.

Have more prebiotics: Prebiotic food items can help boost the growth of good bacteria in your gut. This can, in turn, result in better digestion and easier weight loss.

Chew your food: Eating slowly and chewing your food is the key. It helps in breaking down the food properly before it reaches the digestive system.

Fibre-Rich food: Just like Prebiotic food, Fibre-rich food items are great for the gastro-intestinal tract. It…

Why you need to network at conferences

The Annual Bloggers Bash

Networking at the Annual Bloggers BashI’m going to take a minute to move away from the awards and the nominations and talk blog business.

Who out there would like to blog or write full-time?

Cause here’s the thing, with the exception of paid advertising, most marketing and business activities you do aren’t directly measureable. That’s a problem if you’re a blogger, author or writer trying to build a business and ‘go full-time.’

How can you tell if what you’re doing is effective? I guess that’s hard or maybe impossible.

Does that mean you shouldn’t do those activities? That you should side line networking for the sake of measureable impacts?

No, no it does not.

Because networking has been THE single most effective tactic I’ve used in my career to date. I make a point to attend as many conferences as I can. I regularly attend the Annual Bloggers Bash, the London Book Fair, 20…

In Light of Our Imperfections

The first time I was invited to speak came from a woman who had totally humiliated me at the dinner table in front of my husband’s Bible professors. There I was, already intimidated by the educated people at the table, when one of the woman at our table said loudly, “I heard you were fat, Jewish, and on drugs. How did you ever become a Christian?” Of course all eyes were suddenly on me as I felt forced to share my life story in front of a table of strangers. I am not proud of my life before Christ…

In every row, the three images depict lines with 0, 1 and 2 intersections. That is, each row must contain an image with 0 intersection, an image with 1 intersection, and an image with 2 intersections.

The number of intersections of the images for the first two rows are in this order:

0, 2, 1
2, 1…

As for the third row:

Misguided Perceptions

#blog, #education, #inspiration, #philosophy,

Talk Exchange..!

“Perception” is the way we look at things. It can be A Problem, A Person, A Phenomenon or even Life. What matters in every situation of our Life is our Perception.

Perceptions can be either Positive or Negative but can’t ever be categorized as Right or Wrong which is exactly what we do.

Not liking the way one sees things, we consider that perception to be a wrong one and often tend to tell the person that he lives with a wrong point of view. When in reality it’s not wrong but different than our’s. This assumption creates a kind of hatred towards us in the person’s mind, thus building walls between the two.

Rather, why not try building bridges instead of walls by accepting the others person’s perception as different and not wrong…

We are misguiding ourselves by differentiating Perceptions as Right or Wrong. Perceptions differ from person to…

On 11 February, the United Nations, partners worldwide, women and girls will mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Why does it matter?

Recent studies suggest that 65 per cent of children entering primary school today will have jobs that do not yet exist. While more girls are attending school than before, girls are significantly under-represented in STEM subjects in many settings and they appear to lose interest in STEM subjects as they reach adolescence. Debunking the myths that girls do not like the sciences and other and gender stereotypes, along with investment in teacher trainings, gender-responsive technology and innovation can reverse these trends.

With Sustainable Development Goal 9, part of the Global Goals that world leaders agreed to in 2015 with a deadline of 2030, countries around the world have pledged to “build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation”. Yet, a look…

Answers and Promises, Day 4

From The Darkness Into The Light

Today’s reading is drawn from Joel 2:12-13 and Joel 2:18-19.

Often an answer from God will come packaged and delivered in a promise — as something potentially available. That is how God dealt with his people through the prophet Joel. He answered their pleas with a call to return to him so that he could make good on promised blessings.

We’d rather the answer come in concrete form — fully assembled and ready to use, with a full guarantee. But God has spoken more than 7,000 answers to our problems and questions in promise form. So how do we get these answers wrapped in “potential packaging” to become reality? God gives his answers in potential form because his greatest goal for us is not making us comfortable, it is building our characters. He makes promises reality, not through obligation, but through obedience. God’s promises are converted from…

Resilience – You Can’t Succeed Without It

Empower Great Success

There are many attributes that are associated with successful people. In my opinion one of the most valued is resilience. Resilience is defined as the the ability to recover from something. Oh how I love that word!

When I was younger I would set out to achieve a goal and give up because it didn’t happen as quickly as I thought it should happen. I would give up and start something else. As I got older, I realized that excellence takes time as well as hard work. That simple shift in my mindset changed the way that I looked at failure.

I’ve learned that whenever you start something new, you have to go into it with the mindset that it may take several attempts before you succeed. More often than not you should be prepared to ride it out until you succeed. As you start your planning stage, you should…

Self-care techniques and general lifestyle can help manage the symptoms of many mental health problems.

We get ill when we expect more than we can get, when we relay more on others and less on ourselves, when material world becomes more important than meaning of life.

Need to learn to be thankful for what we have, it’s never enough, because it’s easy to get use to material things and they don’t make us happy anymore, we think, if you get something new it will bring happiness back, but it’s not true, it will make us happy for a moment and at the end if you continue to think this way, it will never be enough.

It’s important to figure out, what really matters and what is real. To find another way to feel happy, not for a day or two, but forever.

The Godly Chic Diaries

Do not rely on your own understanding of a situation. “For we walk by faith not sight” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “God, It’s not suppose to be this way…”

Sometimes things happen in life that simply catch us off guard. We feel disappointed, disillusioned and we quietly start to question and wonder about God’s goodness.

In Mark:9 it tells a story of a father who came to Jesus with his son asking Jesus to heal him. Even in his asking, he still questioned — And then Jesus said to him, ” If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears; “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.”

And If you feel like this is you, and you’re in the same boat, still questioning God. Take heart, you don’t have to…

New Purity and Sanctity of Life

New Heaven on Earth!

The world’s wisdom about love and marriage is destroying people. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy lives. The Wisdom that comes from Above is pure and leads to life and life more abundant. The human heart was made in the image and likeness of God until subtle trickery caused Adam to begin thinking from satan’s tree of the knowledge of good and evil; duality instead of oneness with God our perfect holy righteous just eternal Father; blinding their vision to things that kept their heart pure and life-giving.

Jesus came to restore heart, mind and will (the soul) to the Father; to purity and sanctity of life; reconciliation with God through union with the Son; a new covenant between the Father and the Son that can never be broken, and we enter into the new covenant through coming to Christ and Christ coming to live in our heart…

Remedies for muscle fever

Katherine's Blog

Muscle fever is felt by the body in the form of a strong pain and a high tonus in the muscle you have trained. Whether it’s caused by intense workout or due to the effort made during the day, muscle fever occurs only 24 hours after the effort.

There are three types of muscle in our body: the muscles of the heart, the smooth muscles (from the blood vessels) and the skeletal or striated muscles attached to the bones. Muscle fever affects only skeletal muscles.

                                                     Ways to fight muscular fever

1. Vitamin C – acts as an anti-inflammatory on the areas of the body that have been subjected to the effort;

2. Cold showers – helps to better blood circulation and better vascularization of the inflamed area, helping to repair muscle fiber;

3. Rest after exercise – Give muscle fibers rest and time to repair and heal properly. Avoid…

(Health) What are the benefits of intermittent fasting?

Aarif Billah

In general intermittent fasting refers to an eating cycle that includes periods of fasting for a minimal of 12-36 hours (although there’s significant variation). Many intermittent fasting advocates suggest that intermittent fasting report improved weight management.

Scientist can’t easily conduct human-research therefore, most of the research were done in animals, and some of the benefits could also be applicable to us, human.

Research links intermittent fasting benefits include

  1. Weight loss
  2. Lower the risk of type 2 diabetes
  3. Improved heart health
  4. Improved brain health
  5. Reduced cancer risk

1. Weight Loss

Might be due to the lowering of insulin levels.

Our body breaks down carbohydrates into glucose, which our cells use for energy or convert into fats and store for later use. And insulin is a hormone that allows cells to take in glucose.

During a fasting period, our insulin levels drop which causes cells to release their glucose stores as energy.

Mind Heart Matters

Cancer is nasty. It is an insidious, life-sucking, mentally challenging and exhausting disease that tests a family in ways they never dreamed possible. It tires you, and angers you, frightens you and saddens you.

How do I know this? Our family was recently blind-sided by a diagnosis that will take our mother from us far too soon. A woman who bowled weekly, golfed often, volunteered regularly, met with her friends, completed crossword puzzles and Sudoku challenges daily, walked outside or on her treadmill and never failed to cheer on her Jets, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 glioblastoma (GBM), a very aggressive form of brain cancer.

How blindsided were we? On December 25th, she was up giggling and partying with her grandchildren, sipping on a beer while they threw jokes back and forth and kept the rest of us up until the wee hours of the morning. Their laughter was…

Getting Up Early Can Affect Your Mood Throughout The Day

By: Philip Sanzone

There is always time to fix one’s sleep, and now might be the time. (Credit: watchware.com)

How you wake up in the morning can affect a lot about your day. Proper sleeping and eating habits can help you pass tests and have more healthy social experiences.

Whilst talking to people without getting enough sleep, conversations may feel sluggish. It will also conjure a feeling of being at a lose for what to say when trying to think of something to talk about.

With a sluggish mind, coming up with ideas for a conversation can feel like there are weights keeping you down.

Test-taking can also be heavily influenced by the amount of sleep you get.

If someone studies for a test in advance, but gets no sleep or wakes up late instead of at an appropriate time…

Over the last 40 years or so, it seems that society has become fascinated by the art hacking.  Of course, the nefarious kind is always of concern when it comes to security. But it’s not all bad. Many hackers use their skills to actually improve security and work on projects that are otherwise fun or beneficial to society.

Beyond what hackers do, we’re more intrigued by how they do it. Or, at least our perception of how they go about their work. Pop culture has certainly painted a picture of hacking that, realistic or not, brings a sense of glamour and hi-tech mayhem to mind.

In that same spirit, we have put together a collection of code snippets that pay homage to the hacking culture. So, put on your hoodie, turn off the lights and immerse yourself in this mysterious world.

From The Darkness Into The Light

February 3
“Does it Really Matter All That Much?”
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hos_4:6).
We were all assembled at the main archway of the great Library, checking our gear and supplies as we readied ourselves for our onward journey to a place called Grace.
“May I ask a question?” a timid young man said, raising his hand as though he were still in school.
“You sure can,” I replied, in a tone that put him at ease.
“Does it really matter all that much that we distinguish between God’s grace and His kindness? I mean, when you get right down to it – isn’t it really all the same?”
A few other travelers looked stunned; one could tell they concluded the young man had not been listening very well. But I felt it was an honest question, especially in light of the fact that we have…

John Stith Pemberton, after graduating medical studies went in a civil war. After the war, he was diagnosed with a serious serious life-threatening wound. Being addicted to morphine, John Stith Pemberton found a way to fight his addiction by creating Coca Cola.

In 1885, Pemberton began selling a drink called “Pemberton’s French Wine”, the beverage being made of cocaine, kola nuts and damiana (a shrub with aphrodisiac and anti-anxiety properties).

Dissecting the REAL Reason for Abortion

The Recovering Legalist

Yesterday, a story came out on FoxNews.com entitled “Women’s rights groups support late-term abortion, despite public outcry“.  In that story, the CEO of Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts ( a New York lobbying and advocacy group for Planned Parenthood), Robin Chappelle Golston, is quoted as stating the following during a celebration of New York’s new law:

We cannot overstate how important it is for all New Yorkers to have the ability to control their own bodies and determine their own destinies… ” Robin Chappelle Golston

A Fairy Tale Dream,

Our Valid Thoughts

When I was little I used to wish I was a fairy.

With silvery, pink wings sprouting from my back,

To fly my to all the places my heart could ever desire.

I wished to have a home inside a flower,

The walls of petals so soft, I could use them as silk bed sheets

The stem would sway in the wind,

Gently rocking me to sleep

As the birds sang a lullaby so sweet in the night air.

With no shoes, I would take a walk in the forest,

Feeling the damp soil under my toes.

Taking a dew drop from a leaf as a sip of water to start the day.

I’d have my little friends,

A mouse to take me places,

A ladybug to tell me secrets,

A squirrel to share my nuts with,

A fish to teach me how to swim.

death and loss

Contemplative thoughts on life

(25 Jan 2019)

When someone dies
we wonder
where does he go?

When someone dies
we cry
for he’s never coming home (anymore)

When someone dies
we remember
all the good things

When someone dies
we think
and we feel so much… grief

When someone dies
perhaps, just perhaps
he never leaves
maybe just out of our sight
out of our reach
but very much still around

For what we are made up of
is far greater than
what we can imagine

When someone dies
think of it as
a change of state
a transcendence in level

From temporal existence
to eternity

(perhaps then, we will deem it less of a loss, and more of a… blessing?)

Africa Diplomatic Front

”Serial acts of suppression” that’s what President Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan called it after Beijing snatched off Burkina Faso; one of the only two countries left for Taipei in Africa.

It has been a loss for Taiwan in Africa in the recent years as the country continues to lose its grip of its allies in the continent. The unceasing cut in diplomatic ties by different African States as a loyalty to China has made it difficult for Taiwan government to keep the country’s presence in the 54 African nations.

There were once 30 African states which had ties to Taiwan. Now there is just one. This is because countries are forced to choose between China or Taiwan under the “one China” policy. Since the Cold War era, China had demanded that countries must choose in favor of one of them and that diplomatic relations with both is not possible.

So far…
