WORLD EXPO 2020 IN UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

United Arab Emirates is one of the prestigious and best countries in the world chosen to host the Expo 2020.

World Expo connotes world’s fair large international exhibition designed to showcase achievements of nations.

These exhibitions vary in character and are held in different parts of the world at a specific site for a period of time, ranging usually from three to six months.
The International Bureau of Exhibitions monitors the World Fair. Under the auspices of IBE four types of international exhibition are organised World Expos, Specialised Expos, Horticultural Expos and the Triennale di Milano.

The Convention Relating to International Exhibitions came into force in 1928 and since then many European, Asian and American countries have used the platform to showcase their uniqueness to the world.
In October 2020, Dubai, United Arab Emirates will be hosting the Expo 2020 tagged:

Mobility, Opportunities and Sustainability.
The bidding process for the Expo 2020 began in 2011 and was highly competitive with four cities being selected to participate in the final round of votes: Brazil, Turkey, UAE and Russia.

Meanwhile, The Expo will take place for the duration of 6 months with 190 participating countries, and millions of visitors from across the globe.

Themes of Expo 2020

The Expo 2020 Dubai has 3 key pillars that guide the activities of the event. Through the themes, the Expo aims to build partnerships and inspire ideas that will forge and build the world of tomorrow.
The Themes are Opportunities, Mobility, and Sustainability.

Opportunities:

This is the greatest opportunity for the world as the programme will be professional oriented.
Expo 2020 aims to unlock the potential in people in multiple ways through the Expo Live programme and introducing of visitors to new ideas that inspire them to act.
The Opportunity Pavilion hopes to triggers visitors to realize the important role that they can play in human development through their actions. Visitors would experience series of gameplay moments that will challenge the visitor’s thinking on issues related to basic needs of water, food, and energy.
The pavilion is made from organic materials, including timber, 2,500 tonnes of stone and 111 km of woven rope.

Mobility:

The Expo 2020 looks at how we can enable smarter movement of knowledge, ideas and goods for human development. The Mobility Pavilion will examine the progress of human movement through physical and digital realms- How people, goods, ideas and data move (and what it all means)
Expo 2020 will shine light on human movement from ancient exploration to artificial intelligence.

Sustainability:

The sustainability Pavilion will center on how humans can create a sustainable and conducive environment for the future.

It expected to focus on the environment-land and ocean using different visual experiences. The world expo in Dubai 2020 will give visitors the opportunity to journey through the forest roots and oceans depths to discover the earth wonders. The sustainability pavilion will also feature innovative global projects that are creating new paths of Sustainability and also helping to preserve our planet for future generations.

The 6 months scheduled exhibition will cover 15 hours plus entertainment daily, 192 country pavilions, 200 plus restaurants and 60 live shows daily.
