Time changes everything. Had you told me two years ago that I would be working at a Mental Health Center I absolutely would have laughed at you. How could the girl who had two psych unit stays be working with people who have struggled the same way? Because time changes everything.

The past two years I have climbed mountains I never thought I could. I have pulled myself out of quick sand chest deep and climbed rock bottom with every part of me bleeding. But I would not change a single thing about it – I would walk through a million more miles of that quick sand, spend two more years in the basement of rock bottom if I had to. Because like they say, you should never be ashamed of the obstacles you have faced. Mountains do not grow without earthquakes.

The liver combines substances from natural compounds found in your body to produce cholesterol. That’s the main source of cholesterol. But you also ingest cholesterol when you eat foods containing animal fat. These include full-fat dairy products (butter, cream, cheese, whole milk); lard; fatty meats (with visible white fat), bacon, and foods made with trans-fat (processed baked goods, fries, onion rings, etc.) In contrast, foods made plants are cholesterol free.

Our bodies need a small amount of cholesterol to maintain normal body functions, including producing hormone, processing of fat-soluble vitamins, and maintaining cell structure. While cholesterol is a specific compound, it is transported throughout the body by carriers called lipoproteins.

J E S U S. He is the Source that gives us life. When we are connected to Him, we bear fruit. Fruit that will last. Fruit that will make a true difference. While Jesus was here on Earth, He set a great example for us by showing us how He stayed connected to the Father.

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” (Mark 1:35, NIV)

Jesus realized that regular communication with the Father through prayer, was the way to stay focused and empowered. It’s no different for us. We need to have our special quiet times…

Anyone living in America knows we are constantly bombarded by the Gospel of More.

 What is the Gospel of More? It is the idea that we must always strive to have more stuff than we have now. The basic tenant of the Gospel of More is that we do not have enough material goods and what we do have is not good enough. We must constantly strive to have a bigger and better house, car, furniture…you name it. The underlying premise of this Gospel is that our happiness depends on our acquiring more and better stuff.

Who are the promoters of this Gospel? The High Priests of this Gospel reside on Madison Avenue and they work night and day in order to create the illusion that our happiness depends on our material possessions. If we are ensnared by this illusion, the High Priests have…
