BEWARE OF THIS CELEBRATION CALLED APRIL FOOLS DAY

April fools day is a strange celebration characterized by expensive joke! Although April Fools’ Day, also called All Fools’ Day, has been celebrated for several centuries by different cultures, its exact origins remain a mystery. Some historians speculate that April Fools’ Day dates back to 1582, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the … Continue reading BEWARE OF THIS CELEBRATION CALLED APRIL FOOLS DAY

‘What Are Humans, That You Care?’

[…] Source: What Are Humans That You Care […]

BeanSpired Editions

Last week marked the beginning of spring (at long last!). It’s a season that calls us to stop and appreciate the beauty of life – flowers blooming, birds preparing nests, grass greening, trees putting on new leaves.

This week, in the home of a longtime close friend, a little human life is celebrating her two-month birthday. She’s already laughing and smiling, melting her mom’s heart and filling her home with joy. She owned her family’s hearts long before she was born, and I think they’ve only grown more in love with her since (if that’s even possible!).

She is precious. Not for being one of the cutest and happiest babies in the world (though she definitely is!). Simply for being human.

Christians often speak of the special value of human life. But what is it exactly that gives human life its unique, intrinsic value? Why should we treat the life…

The Kingdom Of God: 1 and 2 Corinthians

Learning From God's Word

The kingdom of God is a power. Paul tells us, “The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power” (1 Corinthians 4:20). It is the power of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, breaking into our lives and transforming them. “The race of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Corinthians 13:14). This is the blessing of God’s kingdom. It’s a blessing which is more than mere words. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit – these are not just religious words. They are spiritual realities, the power of God at work in our live, the power of God which brings the forgiveness of sins, the power of God which brings new life, the power of God which gives us a foretaste of heavenly…

FAITH IS TRUSTING GOD EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND HIS PLAN!

The Godly Chic Diaries

I would like to say I am walking into this week like…💃” but honestly, I am hardly walking, I am more like treading. Sometimes, when I feel led, I’ll second guess, almost like, “Are you sure about this, Lord? Because it doesn’t seem like the best or easiest or most comfortable plan …” But I am realising more and more that I don’t know what’s coming, and rather than fussing over it and trying to question it all, I just have to relax, pray and let God be God…

Friends it’s OK not to be OK and have it all together. When David became weary with moaning. God didn’t become weary with listening. (Psalm 6:6-9) The God of all comfort keeps watch over your weeping. He gathers up all your tears and put them in His bottle.(Psalm 56:8) Like a doting mother sitting besides her childs sickbed, God marks every…

Wars and Rumors of Wars

Lift Up Your Eyes!

My YouTube feed was full of wars and rumors of wars videos this morning. It reminded me of this passage.

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.Formany will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; forall these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.Fornation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will befamines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Matthew 24:4-8 NKJV

Embracing Loneliness

A Beautiful Mess

“Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. An intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you’ll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.” – Janet Fitch

I am afraid of loneliness, afraid that I would be undertaken by its dark currents, that I would drown in its the inevitable sea of suffering. I used to be afraid that if I were to be pitched by the throes of loneliness that I would not survive. I would fight against it, I would try to…

Title: This is Love

Text: 1 John 4:7-21

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

1 John 4:7-10

We are now beginning the central core of this letter, and this core runs from verse 7 to the end of this chapter.  It is not only the central core of the letter, but it is also the central core of Christian theology.  All of those comparisons at the beginning of the letter, and all of the discussion of…

A year of haiku about my kids.

For children!

In the months before my son was born last year, I worried having two kids would reduce my time for creativity even more than one had. To combat what I felt was a loss of creativity, I decided to write a haiku every night. In my mind, it was Minimum Viable Creativity. Before we went from a family of three to a family of four, the haiku were about TV or food or the like, but when my son was born, he was the subject the first night, and the second, and before I knew it, the nightly haiku was now a nightly parenting haiku – or a haidad. It turns out the nightly parenting haiku is not only Minimum Viable Creativity, but also an opportunity to journal milestones every night without having to figure out what to say. Journaling is easier when it’s 17 syllables a day.

Knowing God through His Word ... Day by Day

In our Bible passage in Romans today:

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
—Romans 15:4

John Piper says that there are three three truths from Romans 15:4

  1. All the Scriptures are for our instruction.
  2. All the Scriptures are intended by God to give steadfastness and encouragement.
  3. All the Scriptures have this goal: to sustain our hope.

Piper goes on to explain:

Benjamin Warfield, the great Princeton teacher, was told one time by an unsympathetic saint of his day (in 1911): “Ten minutes on your knees will give you a truer knowledge of God than ten hours over your books.” Warfield’s response was beautiful. He said, “What! [More] than ten hours over your books, on your knees?”

Another Princeton saint, Philip Lindsay, used to make the same point by saying to his…

Travel N Write

I remember when I was a kid,
A seven year old-looks so timid.
Play under the green tree,
Catch and hug so free.
Safer than safe and will,
Pleasure show didn’t tell.

Most beautiful smile I seen,
His sincere heart share and care.
His long and lasting love,
I couldn’t ask above.

I’m glad to have you Daddy,
Give a sip I made you coffee.
He was just smiling and asking,
So?! Anything??
Yes, I have to say something.

Always at your side,
When you feel collide.
Cheer you up-and give you smack
I had respect – I can’t do fight back.

Always on the contrary,
But still give you the right directory.
Put you on grounding and lesson,
I couldn’t move from long sermon.

When you break his rule,
Prepare yourself to look for a safe hole.
Too strict but pure,
Soon you realised its for your own future.

I have given you keys that I found in my life that helped me to come up out of the darkness into His light. Life can be happy, and going well, and then suddenly you are thrown into trauma. I know. Life is life, and we live it daily.

I find that those who raised me, sang while going up the creeks of Kentucky. They knew to sing to the Lord. We would get out of the Jeep, and Dad would work with the rocks in the creek. We would get back into the Jeep and go on to the church we needed to find. He had 9 churches to preach to, and they didn’t all meet on Sunday.

I spoke earlier about no food on the table, but we sat at the table with our plates set, and the silverware out. I didn’t know about fasting. We prayed, and…

“What is Your Religious Tradition?” ‘Nones’ Tied with Evangelicals, Catholics — Pulpit & Pen

Truth2Freedom's Blog

by Cherie Vandermillen · March 21, 2019

[Jack Jenkins | Religious News Service] In a shift that stands to impact both religion and politics, survey data suggests that the percentage of Americans who don’t affiliate with any specific religious tradition is now roughly the same as those who identify as evangelical or Catholic.

According to newly released General Social Survey data analyzed by Ryan P. Burge of Eastern Illinois University, Americans claiming “no religion” — sometimes referred to as “nones” because of how they answer the question “what is your religious tradition?” — now represent about 23.1 percent of the population, up from 21.6 percent in 2016. People claiming evangelicalism, by contrast, now represent 22.5 percent of Americans, a slight dip from 23.9 percent in 2016.

That makes the two groups statistically tied with Catholics (23 percent) as the largest religious — or nonreligious — groupings in the country.

Generosity

Source of Inspiration

Whenever my sister and I
had to share something
like a piece of cake, mom
would tell one of us to
cut the piece in half, and
the other could choose which
half she wanted.

I have thought about this many
times. At what point do we
begin to want to leave the
larger piece for the other
person? How does generosity
begin? How do we reach the
point where the pleasure of
giving is greater than the
pleasure of receiving? Think
how different the world would
be if we were all at this point.

IN THE NEW JERUSALEM

The gates flipped open on their own accord
They just returned from the rapture
With the Saviour at the fore front
Shouts of joy and hallelujah filled the air
As they walked on the streets of gold
She beamed with joyous smiles and laughter
And wondered if she could speak a little with the one who died for her on Calvary’s tree
In a blink He appeared before her saying with
love and compassion expressed with a warm embrace
Daughter you’re welcome
Into the New Jerusalem

In the New Jerusalem
There is no sorrow nor pain anymore
But joy and laughter fills the air everyday
In the New Jerusalem
We will work in the streets of gold
And we’ll get to see the Saints of old
Greeting each one
And the father of faith will be there to say hello
And walking side by side with our Savior

On a faithful Sunday morning
Heaven looked down to the earth below
Just to see his bride
She’s seated in church
Dressed in beautiful attires
But her heart has wandered far away
And heaven wept cause her soul
Heads to destruction
Where their worm dies not
For she’s waiting but isn’t ready

Physically she’s dressed in gorgeous clothing
Ironed and coupled with expensive perfumes
But her heart stinks like a morgue
And her garment is all torn revealing her secret parts
Her shoes are made in expensive gold and silver
But spiritually she works barefooted
In the deadly thorns of sin
But remember she’s supposed to be the bride of Christ
But adultery with the world engulfed her soul
She’s waiting but she isn’t ready

Just like the five foolish virgins of old
She dances to the sound of music in her church

THE VALUE OF SILENCE

JOVIAL

‘The fruits of silence is certainly Prayer’

knowing it’s value is nothing but real power.

It’s really useful in almost everywhere,

Sometimes it is like a soothing cool shower.

In schools, colleges, hospitals and prayer halls,

Can’t say you may find it even in shopping malls.

The good thoughts and ideas peep out of silence,

they also love it who are in trouble and tense.

The students and teachers all like it as it’s a grace,

the result of it is often visible in the face.

The tired and ailing they pray for it as they rest,

maintaining it in the class room is the students real test.

Are you bored of noise around you and really restless?

What you really need at that moment?Any one one can guess.

Ask the man of prayer and do learn what he says-

silence is indeed a true friend as it never betrays.

What are Fimiliar Spirits

Encourage Yourself In The Lord

What You Need To Know About Familiar Spirits

Familiar spirits are spirits that can gain access into people or the personalities of individuals by making them believe that they are spirits of the departed family members. Furthermore, a familiar spirit is a demon, but a lot of Christians do not know that because of what these demons seem to know about them. A medium usually summons this demon with the intention that the spirit his or her commands. Also, these familiar spirits are perceived as the spirits of people who have died.

What is the Bible saying about these spirits? Let’s take a look at Deuteronomy 18:11
The Bible knows the real mission of the familiar spirits; they are demonic forces imitating people to deceive them. This is why the Bible strongly warns us against them.

Luke 16:19-31
In verse 26 in the above chapter shows us that people cannot…

The Master Of The Waves. (Rewritten as inspired. Copyrighted.) An analogy. By Timothy Baugh. March 18, 2019.

From The Darkness Into The Light

The great rivers of Life are in the power of the Lord. And they carry headlong all those who despise Him: and entangle their paths. They sweep away their banks. (they know no boundaries to the damage they can cause). Their flooding catches the bodies (of weak, sinful ones) and destroy their lives. For they (Life’s trials, tribulations, and hardships) are more swift than lightning and more aggressive. Those who cross (meet them) in faith are not moved (troubled or distressed); And all those who walk on them without blemish (in purity) shall not be afraid. For the lesson in them is what the Lord has done. All who cross (meet) them in faith are not moved. (troubled or distressed). Put on, therefore, the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ), and know Him. Then, you shall cross them without danger, for the rivers (and seas) will be subject to you…

Praise God every day. Praise Him forever.

Learning From God's Word

God is our “Refuge” (Psalm 142:5). In His “mercy”, He leads us in His way. He protects us and rescues us from our enemies (Psalm 143:8-9). The Lord, “the One in whom we take refuge”, is described by the Psalmist as “my Rock… My merciful One, my Fortress, my Stronghold, my Saviour, my Shield” (Psalm 144:1-2). The Lord is “great.” He is to be praised “every day.” He is to be praised “forever and ever” (Psalm 145:1-3).

Obedience and the Christian

Encourage Yourself In The Lord

The Importance Of Obedience In Our Christian Race
The importance of obedience even in our daily lives cannot be overstated; you can imagine the chaos if drivers ignore the traffic signs, and just do whatever they think is right. Or imagine the impending doom if a factory worker neglects the rules of operating a machine and decided to use his guts to operate the device. In essence, obedience is, especially in our Christian race. Just the way you are helping yourself and not the government by obeying traffic rules is the same way you are helping yourself when you obey God.

God’s intention for your family
Imagine how happy a family will be if everyone obeys God’s words respectively. Ephesians 6:1 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.”

The above verse shows how God wants children to behave in a family; He knows parents know better…

It’s not the porn industry’s fault that you watch porn, it’s yours. It’s you who types into the search engine. It’s you who closes all the doors and makes sure no one is home. It is you who clears all the search history when you are finished satisfying your desires. It is your sin. Period.
Sure, do the models and producers take a cup of the blame for providing the sin? Of course. However, ultimately it is because of your own lustful heart that you watch what they post. Yet you are not alone. I think of all the times I blamed my sin on others when really it was…

Giving God All The Glory

Pure Glory

by Apostle Gabriel Cross

Is your worship what God requires
Are their flames in your heart burning for Christ
Are you singing what he wants to hear
Or what’s familiar or popular in your ears

Did you know that worship
Is more than a performance
But how we love The Lord
In unity and harmony
How we treat each other
Our sister and our brother
Is a reflection of our praise
and our worship
We need true repentance for true deliverance
and forgive as Christ has forgiven us

Worship is a lifestyle
not a formality
Let’s give God
All the Glory
So I will give you all my worship
I will give you all my praise
You alone I love to worship
You alone are all my praise

A King without borders

The Christian Mind

IMG_20190312_084151_913

Psalm 72:11-13

Christ came as the awaited Messiah who would occupy David’s throne. This passage reflects the expectation that he would be a global King, whose rule would extend over all the earth.

While the Jewish hope that the Messiah would literally live in Jerusalem in a restored palace wasn’t realized, Christ does reign as a King. He rules over nations through the Gospel. And his authority extends from China to Australia, from Africa to South America.

Wherever individuals, families, and nations submit to the gospel, they come under his rule. And ‘he will have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth’ (v.8)

But he is not merely a powerful King, he is a compassionate one. He is a ruler who cares for the oppressed, feeds the hungry, and heals the sick. We saw him do this while on earth, and he continues…

Growth Comes with Challenges

Background scripture: Jeremiah 12

“So Jeremiah, if you’re worn out in this footrace with men, what makes you think you can race against horses” (Jeremiah 12:5, MSG)?

This week has been a rough one. My patience and faith have definitely been tested. I’ve been feeling a little like Jeremiah lately. Not really understanding how people could be mean and cruel, but still prosper. Why were these people bothering me? But as God reminded Jeremiah, He reminded me. Challenges prepare you for the next level. Challenges stimulate growth and if you back away from the challenge how can you be a more refined, faith enlarged, warrior for Christ?! You see, the enemy knows the Word just like we do. He knows how to twist and manipulate God’s Word. He also knows our weaknesses. But remember the Lord never tempts us, but He will allow us to be tested (James 1:13, NIV)…

The Presence of the Holy Spirit

The presence of the Holy Spirit can always be recognized by the way He moves us toward what Jesus would be and do (John 16:7–15). When we inwardly experience the heavenly sweetness and power of life—the love, joy, and peace—that Jesus knew, that is the work of the Spirit in us.

The Way Of God Which Leads In The Paths Of Righteousness. (or, How To Seek God’s Face.) March 12, 2019. By Timothy Baugh.

From The Darkness Into The Light

The following is my short insight into this topic.   The Way of God is the way of all goodness, and goodness in ALL. Hence, only in this way is God seen ‘in all His works’. These are “the paths of righteousness.” And in observing, beholding, contemplating upon His works one sees the beauty and majesty of God displayed there. This is what is meant by ‘seeking God’s face’.  Jesus Christ Himself could rightly say: “If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.” John 11:37-38.    May we too ‘seek God’s face’ by contemplating His Beauty and Majesty as displayed in all His works.   Prayer   Almighty, all wise, and loving Father of Heaven and Earth. We…

From The Darkness Into The Light

Morning

“In my prosperity I said I shall never be moved.”
Psalm 30:6

“Moab settled on his lees, he hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel.” Give a man wealth; let his ships bring home continually rich freights; let the winds and waves appear to be his servants to bear his vessels across the bosom of the mighty deep; let his lands yield abundantly: let the weather be propitious to his crops; let uninterrupted success attend him; let him stand among men as a successful merchant; let him enjoy continued health; allow him with braced nerve and brilliant eye to march through the world, and live happily; give him the buoyant spirit; let him have the song perpetually on his lips; let his eye be ever sparkling with joy–and the natural consequence of such an easy state to any man, let him be the best Christian who ever breathed…

How Do We Know When God Speaks Or Guides Us?

Done with Religion

By Mike Edwards

It isn’t always easy to believe in an invisible God; it isn’t always easy to know how an inaudible God is speaking or guiding us. If God was more visible or audible, wouldn’t our spiritual journey be easier? Jesus established a 24-7 relationship with twelve men and they struggled to believe everything that came out of Jesus’ mouth. Today, God’s awing or overpowering presence may only lead to fearful obligations to obey. I am convinced the road traveled of learning and reflecting better leads to lasting convictions. Maybe God speaks to us in non-dramatic ways out of love!

We are right to look for God’s direction through God’s spirit.

It is reasonable to imagine that since God is invisible that God’s Spirit resides in us and somehow guides us. There is rightly an emphasis in Christian circles that God guides up by their Spirit as opposed to…

Let God be God of the future

The Godly Chic Diaries

image

Yes!! I love this verse, and the realization  that God has a plan and purpose for each and every one of us and a specific way and perfect time to bring it all to pass.
Amazing!!!
According to ( Isaiah 55.8 ) God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, and his ways are not our ways.
Whatever you are trusting god with, whatever steps you are taking, know that they are the safest route to your future.  Because even when we don’t understand, we can trust God is ordering them purposely forward.

💕Blessings💕

Who Has What?

Exploring Alura

In the beginning there were two groups of people.

First there were the Have-More(s). They were an interesting group of people. They felt right. They felt better. They felt they knew everything. In fact, they were so sure of what they knew, they knew they knew they were more than everyone else and therefore it was meant they should have more than everyone. Hence being the Have-More(s). It just felt right.

Then came the Have-Less(es). The Have-Less(es) were a wonderful group of people. They spent all their time worrying about love and fun and joy. They were always having a good time. No matter the less the Have-Less(es) found themselves to be in possession of, it was always just what they needed.

The Have-More(s) were a tricky bunch of people. The Have-More(s) could never decide what they needed to have more of. They always felt there was something to found…

Acts of Faith

Numina

If I am lost in the blowing grasses,

If I wander from the path,

I am in your hands, time.

And in them there is a stillness,

Where light becomes animate,

And tactile,

Like little lost pieces of a former self.

Where bones fall and whiten.

Where palm-sized animals go to burrow

In the darkness of the black, living earth.

Where stones rise speckled with bright

And ancient lichens,

Drifting from rock island to rock island

Where roots cling and flowers find purchase,

Each tiny paradise and enclave,

A world unto itself,

A land that I discover,

Lost in time and seen by no one as I see it,

I make it mine by this act of my loving,

I enter into the folds of time and

For awhile I do surrender,

Finally letting go,

And learning,

The meaning of faith.

Be Ok With Who You Are

Drawing Closer to Christ

1 Peter 1:7 (NLT) says, “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”

You know one of the things I love most about God? His character. His character is so fascinating to me. I’ve known Him for over 30 years and I have never seen Him fail me. No matter how many times I have failed, He has always remained the same. I believe that His ability to be so steadfast in His pursuit of me, is what has kept me over the years. Do I know everything there is to know about God? No, I do not. However…

From The Darkness Into The Light

The Bible Summed Up in Four Words
“Let there be light!” (Gen_1:3)
In the beginning, God said, “Let there be light!” These four words sum up the entire Bible. Everything that follows this first sentence, does so to serve the purpose of fulfilling it. When God said, “Let there be light” – He made a decree that has not been rescinded unto this day.
His will is that we see a revelation of His love in everything He has made, in everything He says, and in everything He does. That we come to know Him by being loved by Him and loving Him in return.
The Garden in which our First Parents were placed was a revelation of God’s love for them. The bounty of His blessings and the nearness of His presence provide lavish proof of His love. The paradise from which we have fallen, and unto which we…

Preaching the Word of the Lord – Psalm 104:1

Learning From God's Word

“Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 104:1).
We have come here to praise the Lord. Why do we praise the Lord? “Lord my God, You are very great.” God is great in power. His power can impress us, but it will not save us until we are touched by a special power – the power of His love. God is great in holiness. His holiness (Isaiah 6:3) shows us our sin (Isaiah 6:5). It’s His love that brings us salvation (Isaiah 6:7). When we see the greatness of His love, we can truly say, “Praise the Lord.”

IF I KNOW WHAT LOVE IS, IT IS BECAUSE OF YOU!

The Godly Chic Diaries

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose — Romans 8.28

When Joseph was pushed down the pit by his brothers, his heart was gripped by fear, despair, anger, tears, disappointment — “How could this be? Why me? What did I do wrong? Why has God abandoned me?” What Joseph didn’t know is that the pit was the necessary pathway to God’s promises…He had to be lowered in HUMILITY in order to be elevated in AUTHORITY!

How many times do we let our value be defined by others, who is noticing us, who is praising us, or who is overlooking us.

I want to encourage you today: Your value is not in the opportunities you have or…
